Nickelodeon began in 1979 and quickly became one of the leading cable networks targeted at children. Also airing on the same network are Nick Jr., which airs shows aimed at preschoolers, which airs while older children are at school and Nick at Nite, which is aimed at general audiences and adults.
The original Nickelodeon logo was a silver pinball, but was replaced in 1984 by this paint splashed logo.
The logo is developed by Alan Goodman & Fred Seibert of Fred/Alan Inc and was designed by Tom Corey & Scott Nash.
